About me

With over 40 years of combined experience in film and digital photography, I have witnessed the evolution of photography from the traditional craft of analogue film to today's digital technology. Throughout these changes, my passion for photography has remained constant.

My photographic interests span a wide range of genres, including landscapes, wildlife, portraiture, architecture and macro photography. I enjoy exploring different subjects, embracing new technology and thinking beyond the conventional boundaries of both digital and analogue photography.

In September 2010, I was proud to achieve the Licentiate distinction from the Royal Photographic Society.

Although I now capture most of my images digitally, I retain a strong affection for film photography and the traditional process of capturing and developing an image.

My approach is simple: capture the image in camera, reproducing the colours and hues I witnessed on the day. I aim to preserve the atmosphere and character of a scene, rather than rely on extensive post-processing. However, I do not rule it out completely.

And what do I particularly enjoy photographing? A smile will probably give the answer away — sunrises and sunsets rank pretty highly!

Based in Yorkshire, where I share my home with my wife, I continue to enjoy the challenge and satisfaction of capturing images that reflect the world as I see it.
